More Race Wins and Championships for Benik Kart at the SSKC
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – It was another championship weekend for Benik Kart drivers at the final round of the Sunshine State Karting Championship (SSKC). Following up on his numerous race wins throughout the 2021 season, Team Benik driver Enzo Vidmontiene won the KA100 Junior Championship while Benik Kart driver Marco Romero claimed the Micro Swift Championship competing out of the SLA Kart program.
“Congrats to Enzo, Marco and SLA Racing for a successful SSKC campaign,” explained Team Benik’s Nick Mitchell. “This was a great way to close the 2021 season and build momentum towards 2022. We look forward to the start of a new race season and can’t wait to get started!”
Racing out of the SLA Kart program, Marco Romero was one of the big winners this past weekend claiming the Micro Swift victories on both Saturday and Sunday. Compiling the most points through the season by the time the final checkered flag flew on Sunday, Romero was also crowned the SSKC Micro Swift Champion for the 2021 season.
With race wins in nearly every major series throughout the year, Enzo Vidmontiene added to both his and Team Benik’s results resume. Garnering enough points, Vidmontiene earned his first junior championship by putting his name on the top of the points sheet in the KA100 Junior class.
Mitchell continued, “A huge congrats to SLA Racing and Marco as well as Enzo. It was a great series for both drivers. We had a great season of competition and proved that with our success on several different tire compounds and multiple engine platforms. As a team we won heat races and main events at the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour, SKUSA Winter Series and Pro Tour, ROK Vegas, the SKUSA SuperNationals, United States Pro Kart Series, WKA Manufacturers Cup and the SSKC. Closing the year with great finishes, we are anxious to get a new season started in a couple of weeks.”
