Team Benik and Enzo Vidmontiene Earn SuperNationals Title

“Great weekend in Las Vegas for Team Benik”

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Team Benik accomplished the goal that they set at the beginning of the week as one of their drivers, Enzo Vidmontiene, garnered his first career Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals title. Competing in the Mini Swift class on the temporary circuit at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Vidmontiene saved his best drive of the weekend for the final on track session as he methodically worked his way forward to top the podium. Micro Swift driver Jaxon Porter also stood on the podium with a valiant fourth place effort in his first event with Team Benik.

“A huge congrats to all of our Team Benik competitors, especially Enzo and Jaxon for their success,” expressed Nick Mitchell. “It was a hard-fought week with a lot of highs and lows, but it is always gratifying when it pays off in the end. We showed speed in several different classes, including a heat race win for Frankie Mossman to prove that our program has what it takes to be on top.”

Super Sunday started with the youngest class on the schedule as Jaxon Porter saved his best drive of the weekend for the Micro Swift main event as he advanced forward from his nineteenth place starting position gaining fifteen spots to come home fourth. As the biggest mover in the final, Porter leveled up to a podium result as he led Team Benik. Royce Vega, who was consistently in the top-ten through all the heat races and battled for P3 at the midrace point during the final, was a victim of contact falling outside the top-ten to P15. Troy Ferguson gained nine positions in the main event to climb his way to a solid ninth place result after a great week of racing. Sebastian Cortes failed to complete the full race distance but proved his speed throughout the heat races as he matched the speed and results of his teammates.

Nicholas Stouffer would be the lone Team Benik entry in the KA100 Junior class. Making the switch to the Florida based program just prior to the event weekend, Stouffer continually improved his speed as he progressed up through the forty-six-kart strong field. During Super Sunday’s main event, Stouffer was able to turn his 24th place starting position into a solid top-15 result.

Team Benik earned a SuperNationals victory in the talent filled Mini Swift class at the hands of Enzo Vidmontiene. A driver that has won in every series and with every powerplant in 2021 continued his success and capped off his season being named the SKUSA SuperNationals Champion. Methodically working his way forward through the heat races after a less than average qualifying effort, Vidmontiene did the same in the weekend’s main event gaining eight positions to score the checkered flag. Noah Baglin and Gavin Whitt were also able to compete on Super Sunday as the earned 26th and 33rd place results respectively and joined Beckham Toupikov in gaining temporary circuit experience that will benefit them for years to come.

It was Frankie Mossman who earned a heat race win for Team Benik in the X30 Senior class as he battled some of the world’s best senior competitors. Progressing through the heat races with solid results, Mossman started Sunday’s main event from the outside of row four in his attempt at SuperNats glory. With an outside starting position not ideal for the opening complex of corners, Mossman made it work moving up to seventh before some aggressive wheel-to-wheel racing. Falling back in some heated battles, Mossman crossed the line in the 18th position.

Jet setting from Europe to Las Vegas, Brandon Carr found himself in the front half of the X30 Junior field as he ran inside the top-ten through the heat races setting himself up for an outside row seven start in Super Sunday’s main event. Looking to crack the top-ten and take advantage of not only his speed but some other drivers’ misfortunes, Carr was able to come home with a 12th place finish while his Team Benik counterpart Michael Costello closed the weekend with an 18th place result.

“2022 is just around the corner, and we will be getting started as soon as we get back to our home base in Florida,” explained Nick Mitchell. “We hate to see the 2021 season end but know that a new year of racing is less than a month away. Thank you to everyone who has supported Team Benik throughout the season, and we look forward to having you part of our growing program in 2022.”
